Lunchtime

He races to his little one at lunchtime
"Feed the heart not the body"
He says to himself
He looks for those big eyes
Full of recognition
Little arms reaching up to him
This is their time
Time for hugs and kisses
Little hands on his face
A child's laughter
He tries to cram a days worth of Love
Into 1800 seconds
Trying not to think about the time
Yet it ticks off in the back of his mind
He holds him tighter
Another lunchtime is 24 hours away
He needs this moment
This Love
His heart is in his arms
Dressed in little pants
And a tiny shirt
With a gigantic smile
He never thought missing lunchtime
Could break his heart

Close My Eyes

I can't close my eyes
When I do, I feel you
Your fingertips on my face

I can't close my eyes
When I do, I hear you
Your morning voice in my ear

I can't close my eyes
When I do, I taste you
Your cinnamon lips on mine

I can't close my eyes
When I do, I see you
And I'll never see you again

P.Frias
My head hung low
The willow wept
The rose mourned
As I sat beside the water
Her reflection shown as my own
And she said
Look in your heart
It's not as empty as you think
Remember who you are
The things learned
The house you have built
The floors covered in faith
And the ceilings hung with hope
The walls adorned with Love
In my heart I sat
In the midst of a multitude of memories
In the midst of those gone before
And the willow wept for joy
And the rose mourned for none

P.Frias
Follow You

Through the deep and through shadows
Through darkness abounding
Across vast water and sky
Into the bowels of Nevermore
I will follow you

Across time and through Heaven
To the end of all things
To the end of forever
The edge of the eternal
I will follow you

A beacon throughout
A lighthouse of the soul
Your eyes are my guide
Your heart is my compass
Our souls are tethered
I will follow you...

P.Frias
Lets resurrect the past
Rebuild the bridges burned
We'll build this Love to last
With lessons we have learned

Orphaned hearts will be found
Many cares will be bestowed
Upon your head I'll lay the crown
Of precious Love in gold

So run away this day with me
We'll live in this Love true
And all the world will surely see
The vast Love I have for you

P.Frias
There used to be magic
In the sound of falling rain
An enchantment in the air
My brother and I would stare
Into the backyard and watch the sky
Weep for hours into the swimming pool
We'd hear the thunder
We'd see the lightning
The house would tremble
And make the noises houses make in storms
Squeaky doors
Squeaky floors
Rattling panes of glass
The gutters out front would flood
And we'd launch our makeshift boats
Trying to keep up with them as we ran along the sidewalk
Little boys making the big world fit into their imagination
It used to rain a lot back then
So the magic was abundant

We're older now
And the rains of our youth
Seem rarely to fall
And so the magic is lessened
And the enchantment
Well, it's been replaced by reality
Bills and work
Worries and fears
Our children will never know the joy
That our imaginations brought us

There used to be magic
In the sound of falling rain
But the rain falls
No more

-with Ant Frias
Be the wind
That you may breeze by
And blow life into me

Be the gale
That tumbles stone
And shakes foundations

Be the storm
That moves the willows
Of complacency in me

Be a hurricane
That you may uproot me
And relocate my heart

Be the pasture where I graze
The sun that I bask in
The stream I drink from

Be the world to me
Be you

P.Frias
There are secrets you keep
Pain that runs deep
Hurts locked away in the dark

There are nights where you dream
With eyes wide open
Hoping
For a better tomorrow

Memories steal your dreams
Haunting
Paralyzing

Who you should be
Or could be
Is not who you are

But you are a star
A light
A piece of heaven wrapped in fair skin

If I could catch your tears
I'd hide them in my heart
Until they became diamonds
And show you
How precious you really are
Let me in
Invite me into your darkness
Into the warm emptiness of you

Let me lay
Upon the billowy shadows
Of memories
Those long ago words
Brilliant and promising
That now hold no more weight

Let me bask
In the forgotten dreams
And lazy afternoons
Of what never was

It never will be
And we never were
